The Lure of the Illicit was one of those manuscripts that had been lying around in a drawer unsung, entirely unknown. In setting up A Sense of Place Publishing I was experimenting with my own work to start with, and this was an early attempt at cover design, before, in the years to come, I settled on the superb designer Jessica Bell. There are numerous versions, but the book was originally written Circa 1998.
