That was then and this was now.
The Earthlings, those primitives, were trying to manipulate the time flow.
The lone standard bearer appeared on the hilltop.
The Shepherd's Hut, the Beginning of Empire, was only slowly beginning to be established.
Time flowed over all of us, yet it was here, "the magic length of God", that we found ourselves; this crucible of an era. At the end of Empire, the American empire, the rule of the oligarchs.
Australia was in an election year, the politicians in election mood, and the blatant falsity, it rang across an already suppressed and tawdry cultural landscape, full of tin and plastic and sheets of superficial falsity; a deadpan plastic dystopia being born here today; with a sleeping populace, amidst the trees, the surveillance bothering him, as it was meant to do, yet again.
These false warriors gathered at these times, their shallow, callow, brutal, sadistic intent. They served their masters. He served his. Not the time lords, but something else.
The sage from 407, now 406 years hence, waxed once more into existence; that desperate plea, that desperate search, there in the ruins of their floating cities, there amidst the collapsing polity and the frightening slums, there when they saw another period of a broken history, when they tried to speak outside of time, when they tried to rescue their own broken polity and another cruelty which had just been unleased, just as was happening here, in 2022.
The perfume from that sacred temple, and all around them the starving people, this cruelty and collapse which spoke across time. Or as Hannah Arendt had put, those who "feel down centuries, soar across continents". Or as Nick Cave repeatedly put it, "we are not alone".
These profundities, they were of little help to the humans of that era, this era, when the blind led the blinded, when all means of public discourse had been corrupted, when communications were not believed, when bully headed military operatives poured scorn upon the divine, when the dimensions beyond everything were dismissed as fantasy, when conflicting agents and agencies created unnecessary storms; and he struggled to focus.
This was what was brought to him. This was what mattered. The battle had been lost.
More and more the people were awakening. And more and more people of conscience were saying: "My God!! What have we done?"
But it was too late to save them.
It was only time to be born anew.
That was the sadness, the overwhelming sadness, of it all; as someone equally as emblematic, from an equally distressed time, signalled for understanding, signalled to be free, messaged in despair, desperately tried to save their brothers, hopelessly sought for understanding.
The Imperial Warship stood above all this.
It was not for us to divine their reasoning; it was for us to do our duty, each of us in our allotted time.
To be honoured thus.

Unvaccinated parents banned from seeing sick KIDS in hospital in WA
Sam McPhee For Daily Mail Australia
Unvaccinated parents will be banned from seeing their own sick children unless they get a special exemption under draconian new measures being drawn up by Mark McGowan.
The Western Australia premier, who has proudly touted his state will have the 'broadest' vaccine passport rules in the country, is bringing in tough new rules on January 31.
The hospital visitation plan would see only those with exemptions from the vaccine to be allowed to visit hospitals - including to see their own kids.
Mr McGowan has promised to make life 'very hard' for those who refuse the jab, and has further ostracised himself from the rest of the country by extending the state's closed borders beyond the February 5 re-opening date he had promised.

Closed border could risk Australia becoming 'pariah' in international community
Late last year, Australia's international border was finally edged open, prompting reunions and relief at airports around the country.
Key points:
Australia's international border remains closed to most, with only Australian citizens, residents and some visa holders able to move freely
Scott Morrison has said he hopes the international border would be open to tourists before Easter
Professor Tim Soutphommasane argues the case for keeping borders closed is weaker now that Australia has a highly vaccinated population
But as images of families tearfully embracing were beamed across morning news programs, Emma Cochrane couldn't bring herself to watch.
The mother of two and her chef husband have called Perth home since 2018, and are on a bridging visa as they wait for their permanent residency to be processed.
Bridging visa B holders aren't included in the list of people allowed to freely enter and return to Australia, which includes citizens, permanent residents, international students, and backpackers.
There is also a travel bubble with Singapore, Japan and South Korea.
"We're, in effect, stuck in limbo land," Ms Cochrane told 7.30.

Greg Hunt issues blunt message to Network 10 journalist who shared Gladys Berejiklian's alleged text exchange about Scott Morrison
Health Minister Greg Hunt ordered journalist Peter van Onselen to "release all of it" after he shared an alleged text message exchange between Gladys Berejiklian and a Liberal Cabinet Minister, where Prime Minister Scott Morrison was labelled a "horrible person".
Greg Hunt has called on the Network 10 journalist who shared an alleged text message exchange between Gladys Berejiklian and a Liberal Cabinet Minister criticising Scott Morrison to “release all of it” as he defended the Prime Minister for working tirelessly throughout the course of the coronavirus pandemic.
Journalist Peter van Onselen revealed the alleged text messages - which delivered a blistering critique of the Prime Minister’s character - during a question to Mr Morrison at the National Press Club on Tuesday.
Van Onselen said the correspondence referenced Mr Morrison as a "horrible, horrible person" who was more concerned with politics than people, while the Minister described him as a "fraud" and "complete psycho".
Mr Hunt was on Wednesday forced to deny his involvement in the scandal and called on van Onselen to reveal the identity of his source.

The world’s first “human challenge” trial in which volunteers were deliberately exposed to COVID-19 has been conducted in the UK and found to be safe for healthy young adults.
Pharmaceutical services company Open Orphan is running the project, launched a year ago, with Imperial College London, the UK government’s vaccines task force and the clinical company, hVIVO.
The trial could lay the groundwork for future studies to test new vaccines and medicines against COVID-19.
Scientists have used human challenge trials for decades to learn more about diseases such as malaria, flu, typhoid and cholera, and to develop treatments and vaccines against them.
