They lied and lied and lied.
"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee," he was advised.
There was always lots of advice. As if these Watchers on the Watch had their own lives together; as if they wouldn't be stuck observing someone on the graveyard shift because their own careers were advancing so rapidly and well.
There in their own graveyards.
But it was all too late.
They had dug their own graves.
They and their ilk had destroyed the country; and he could only watch in wonder as they twisted in the wind.
He had opened up a can of worms. They were the worms. They denigrated him to protect themselves.
It was clearly going well with the humans.
Their leader had lied. They had all lied.
Perhaps it was their last trooping of the colours, before it became impossible for any of them to lie, and their old power structures simply crumbled before the truth of each other.
Before the knowledge of their Lord. The fact they were not alone.
That wherever you looked on this planet, at whatever level of magnitude, from the microscopic to the planet wide, this place swarmed with life.
Democracy died on their watch.
Their Prime Minister was off in Washington hobnobbing with the Leader of the Free World, the Geriatric in Chief that was the President of the United States of America. Before all their lies fell apart.
His own country burned.
There was scene after scene which simply defied belief; a 70-year-old grandmother lying helpless on the floor while the police pepper sprayed her in the face; a passionate young worker soon to have his face smashed in so badly by the police he would be lucky to live; a construction worker given his notice who simply walked off the side of the building, committing suicide.
While that taxpayer funded lying machine, the ABC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, ran innuendo after innuendo claiming the protestors were taken over by "neo-fascists" and right wing groups.
What, people who dared to exercise their democratic right to protest were now neo-fascists?
Yep, that's the one.
The politics of the country were now so vile it was like walking through slime just to have to listen to them, and the dishonesty of the ruling elites besmirched them all; soiled all their souls.
As yes, they lied and lied and lied. The ancients spun in their graves, if they had been mortal, and this spiralling, awful time came to a natural close.
And soon enough a New Man.
And soon enough, it was impossible for them to lie.
And humans became a different creature all together.

Tradie takes his own life after industry shut down in Melbourne

Tragedy unfolded this morning as a construction worker is reported to have committed suicide.
The man took his own life after Premier Daniel Andrews announced a two-week closure of the construction industry.
It appears that he jumped from a building shortly after being ordered to down tools.
The body, which has not yet been identified, was found at Spencer St at 7am on the Crema Construction site.
Several sources have claimed that the incident was a suicide, not a workplace accident.
“Emergency services were called to the Spencer St address following the discovery of the man’s body sometime after 7am,” said a spokesperson for Victoria Police.
It is feared the suicide will inflame construction union protesters currently congregated outside Victorian State Parliament.
Many feel that the decision to shut the construction industry down was issued as a punishment against workers for protesting against the CFMEU on Monday.
“We’ve been clear: if you don’t follow the rules, we won’t hesitate to take action – we have seen widespread noncompliance across the industry and that’s why we’re taking necessary steps to protect every single Victorian. We put the industry on notice just a week ago, we have seen appalling behaviour on site and on our streets, and now we’re acting decisively and without hesitation,” said State Treasurer Tim Pallas.
Tradies were devastated to hear of the loss.
“Breaks my f***n heart. His blood is on Dan Andrews’ hands,” said one angry worker.
“Today we protest in your name and in your honour,” added another.

Police have shut down an almost three-hour standoff with protesters at Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance, moving in and making a number of arrests as hundreds dispersed towards the city centre.
Officers had surrounded protesters at the war memorial, south of the city’s CBD, since about 3pm on Wednesday on the third day of protests in Melbourne. The protests come during a two-week shutdown of the state’s construction industry over Covid concerns.
The protests started with members of the powerful Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) resisting a government mandate for compulsory vaccinations in order for them to continue to work on building sites. But they grew to include anti-lockdown and so-called “freedom” protesters.

Shortly before 5pm, police moved in after issuing the protesters with several warnings to leave the shrine via an exit the riot police had cleared for them.
Some left, but others stood their ground, arguing they wanted an alternative way out.
Victoria police earlier declared a no-fly zone over the CBD. It is understood they asked news helicopter crews not to fly over the protests, concerned the footage was providing intel to the protesters.
More than 200 people were arrested. Two police were injured by bottles thrown at them, one officer was hospitalised with chest pains.
Earlier on Wednesday, hundreds of police, including officers from the riot squad, lined city streets.
Despite callouts on social media channels, initially only a small number of people were seen outside the CFMEU’s office in the central business district. There had been five reported arrests as of 11am AEST.

The numbers swelled during the day, but were far lower than on Tuesday. Police in riot gear moved through the city throughout the morning, breaking up the protesters into smaller groups. At around midday, the protesters left the city down St Kilda Road towards the shrine, where they sat on the steps outside the memorial.
Police soon followed, and formed a line in front of the memorial blocking the protesters.
Just before 3pm, police were urging those gathered to leave back through St Kilda road.
RSL Victoria slammed the protest, saying the site was “sacred, not a space of protest”.

'It's almost like grooming': How anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists and the far-right came together over COVID

This week's protests in Melbourne are a reminder that there is a group of people who are incredibly angry about the situation they find themselves in, and resentment is proving fertile terrain for organised groups.(

Scenes of protesters clad in hi-vis jackets and shouting anti-vaccination slogans have dominated the news this week.
As ABC News reported: "Some of those gathered held a banner reading 'freedom', while others sang the national anthem and chanted 'f*** the jab'."
Some attacked union offices, drawing criticism from officials such as Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) chief Sally McManus, who described the protests as being orchestrated "by violent right-wing extremists and anti-vaccination activists".
These images may shock some but for researchers like me — who research far-right nationalist and conspiracy movements, and explore the online spaces where these people organise — these scenes came as no real surprise.
Far-right nationalists, anti-vaxxers, libertarians and conspiracy theorists have come together over COVID, and capitalised on the anger and uncertainty simmering in some sections of the community.
They appear to have found fertile ground particularly among men who feel alienated, fearful about their employment and who spend a lot of time at home scrolling social media and encrypted messaging apps.
Gladys Berejiklian confirms unvaccinated won’t be released from lockdown at 80 per cent under NSW roadmap
Those who are not fully vaccinated will remain in lockdown even when the state reaches 80 per cent double dose vaccination, according to Premier Gladys Berejiklian.

'There's not long to go': Premier Berejiklian thanks residents for their patience
Premier Gladys Berejiklian says she again wants to thank the people of New South Wales for being so "patient" in the state. "There's not long to go now,The New South Wales Premier has announced those who are unvaccinated when the state reaches 80 per cent double dose vaccination will not be allowed out of lockdown.
At Wednesday’s COVID-19 update Gladys Berejiklian said the government was working on the state’s roadmap out of lockdown for when the 80 per cent double dose mark is reached.
The state is due for a relaxation of restrictions when 70 per cent of the population is fully vaccinated but there will be a further and wider easing of the rules when the 80 per cent mark is reached.
“At 80 per cent, the additional freedoms will be for people who are fully vaccinated,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“The government will let everybody know the date or the time frame where health advice says to us it’s safe for others to participate in events.”
Businesses have been told the restrictions will be enforced in a similar manner to how they were prior to the current lockdown with the focus on ensuring the unvaccinated do not enter venues.
“This time we will be more cautious about making sure nobody who is unvaccinated is attending those venues until a period of time which the government, based on the health advice, will determine,” Ms Berejiklian said.
The Premier said the 80 per cent road map would be concentrating on rewarding those who are fully vaccinated before the government decides when those who have not received the jab can enjoy more freedoms.

“There will be another date after that by which the unvaccinated people will be able to participate in events or activities,” she told the media.
Ms Berejilkian acknowledged that businesses and event managers could decide not to allow those who were not vaccinated even when the unvaccinated were handed the same freedoms as the fully vaccinated.
“There could be major events or indoor settings whereby the organisers of an event will stipulate that they only want vaccinated people attending and there may be airlines that say they only want vaccinated people coming to fly with us,” she said.
Extremists with chilling ulterior motives are capitalising on the potent fear and anger sparked by the Covid-19 pandemic to “groom” recruits and fuel chaos throughout Australia, an expert says.
Scenes from Melbourne showing thousands of fluoro-clad rioters tearing through the CBD for three consecutive days have horrified many watching on.
Yesterday, several police officers were injured, cars were trashed, a journalist was attacked and doused in urine, and the West Gate Bridge was swarmed and taken over for two hours, in what was billed as a protest against mandatory Covid-19 vaccines in the construction sector. Today dozens of protesters were arrested when they congregated at the Shrine of Remembrance.
The behaviour has been roundly condemned by authorities, the trade union movement and Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, who said he was left sickened by what took place.
Josh Roose, an expert on politics and extremism and a senior research fellow at Deakin University, said he found this week’s chaos in Melbourne completely unsurprising.
It’s a powder keg scenario many months in the making, egged on by groups with no connection to the movements they hijack, Dr Roose said.
“Far-right nationalists, anti-vaxxers, libertarians and conspiracy theorists have come together over Covid and capitalised on the anger and uncertainty simmering in some sections of the community,” he wrote in an article today for The Conversation.
“They appear to have found fertile ground particularly among men who feel alienated, fearful about their employment and who spend a lot of time at home scrolling social media and encrypted messaging apps.”

Not just tradies raging
On Monday, a snap gathering of a few hundred men outside the office of the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) was apparently attended by many tradies.
But CFMEU boss John Setka and Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) secretary Sally McManus were quick to claim the mob consisted primarily of right-wing extremists including neo-Nazis.
Tuesday’s crowd was much bigger and much angrier, and Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton said “a range of people” had involved themselves – not just tradies.
“We know from what we have been monitoring that people are being encouraged to put on high-vis gear, to put on workwear, to come in under the cover of a crowd,” Chief Commissioner Patton said.
“They’re not necessarily tradespeople, but people who are tied up with the Freedom Rally, people who are tied up with other issue-motivated groups who seek to hide under the cover of this demonstration.”

Dozens of men wearing high-vis clothing gathered again in Melbourne on Wednesday, met by an enormous police presence.
The three days of rage follows a rally in Victoria’s capital on Saturday against vaccinations and Covid lockdowns that also turned violent, with several police attacked and hospitalised with injuries, including broken bones.
In that instance, a number of people donned high-visibility workwear while others were spotted wearing swastikas and other Nazi paraphernalia.
One man was photographed waving a large Donald Trump flag.
“Among the protesters there was a really conscious effort to represent themselves as tradies and workers,” Dr Roose said of that demonstration.
“Some observed protest organisers encouraging people to wear hi-vis clothing to these rallies.
“It’s important to note the construction industry and trade union movement in general are incredibly diverse, and there will be different and competing views around vaccines, masks and lockdowns.
“Some of these protesters actually are tradies, some may not be. Some are union members, others are not.
“But the broader point is there is a group of people who are incredibly angry about the situation they find themselves in, and resentment is proving fertile terrain for organised groups.”
